His passion of flight started at the age of 5 with model airplanes. He began flying real planes by 13 as a cadet with the Civil Air Patrol. Today he is a commercially rated pilot in both land and sea aircraft and has logged over 9000 hours in more than 60 different types of aircraft. He is (FAST) formation qualified and is the only active Glasair III low level aerobatic waiver holder in North America. His professional career as a defense contractor keeps him busy around the world. He also teaches flight operations for unmanned aircraft and has logged more than 800 hours and some of which were in the Middle East. Additionally Torrey flies for Skytypers, a formation aerial advertising company. Other aviation activities include flying the Young Eagles, Angel Flights, flying rescue animals and guest speaking with the Civil Air Patrol. In his free time he enjoys building and flying radio control model aircraft and has flown demonstrations with those around the world. |
I decided to purchase my Quicksilver Sport 2SE because I have developed a huge trust and fondness for the aircraft and the company that builds it. This is mainly due from my prior experiences as a passenger, student and pilot in the experimental version, the Sport 2S. Those experiences are unsurpassed by anything else that I’ve flown in.
